Your bank SMS,
already sorted.
Kash turns CBE, Telebirr and other bank messages into a clear history. Nothing to type. Free, for Android.
It takes a minute
Kash isn't on the Play Store yet, so Android asks you to confirm the install.
- 1
Tap Download for Android and wait for it to finish.
- 2
Open the file from your notifications or your Downloads / My Files app.
- 3
If Android says it can't install apps from this source, tap Settings, turn on Allow from this source for your browser, then go back.
- 4
Tap Install. If Google Play Protect warns about an unknown app, tap More details → Install anyway.
- 5
Open Kash, allow SMS access, pick your banks, then sign in and set a 4-digit PIN.
Samsung phones: the setting is under Settings → Apps → ⋮ → Special access → Install unknown apps. You can turn it off again after installing.
Had Kash 1.0.13 or earlier? From 1.0.14 Kash installs as a new app. Sign in with the same account, check your history is there, then uninstall the old Kash.
Three permissions. No surprises.
SMS
To read messages from banks and mobile money, like CBE, Telebirr, Awash and Dashen. Other messages are skipped: never stored or uploaded.
Notifications
A nudge when new transactions need a category. You can turn it off in the app.
Internet
To back up your transactions to your account, so they're on the web dashboard and safe if you change phones.
Kash never asks for your bank PIN or password, and can't move money.
